 Welcome to the

TxLDA Lyme Disease Support Forum!

We realize there is an enormous amount of useful information available on the internet about health conditions of all kinds, including Lyme disease. This information, however, may or may not always be accurate – which proves to be quite overwhelming for patients suffering from a chronic illness, especially an illness that effects cognitive functioning.

We have created this message forum in hopes that we can come together – bringing whatever knowledge we’ve uncovered; share our experiences; and empower each other to make better health decisions through open, respectful communication.

This forum has been created to learn, ask, inquire, wonder & share anything related to the topic of Lyme disease and other tick borne illnesses. We want you to share your thoughts, stories, emotions, experiences and opinions; and we ask that you make the effort to do so in a manner that is honest, caring, and mutually respectful.

In an effort to organize information for ease of future retrieval, we have established several major topic categories. We hope this effort is helpful to you and does not prevent you from posting out of a confusion of WHERE to post. If we have neglected to include a necessary topic category or if you have suggestions on how to better organize this message board, please email
donnareagan@sbcglobal.net.  We welcome your ideas.

Registration to this forum is free – however we do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below.

Although the administrators and moderators of TxLDA Lyme Disease Support Forum will attempt to keep all objectionable message off this forum, it will be impossible for us to review all messages.

You also agree not to post the first or last name of any Lyme disease practitioner on this site. Instead, please limit your references to these professionals by using the first letter of their last name only. You may post the city in which the health care practitioner conducts business; however, please do NOT post any contact information.

If you would like to provide personal referrals to various health care practitioners, please do so through the private messaging feature or through one-on-one emails.

The purpose of this practice is to protect our Lyme practitioners and the Lyme community at large, as well as individual forum members and patients.

Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on this message forum.

I just want to say Kudos to the creator.  This is an easy place to post to.  I can actually figure out how to do stuff.  And in my really lame brained state, that is saying a GREAT DEAL.  Thank you.  "If you build it, they will come."

Oh Eve-darlin' -- THANK YOU THANK YOU!

So very nice of you to say that, especially since I had built another version like this in the past for my local support group, and the thing just sat there. My group literally IGNORED it!!  (Lots of hours go into building something like this...and they IGNORED IT.  Let's just say I was a bit sad.

Finally, those who came were 'spammers' -- filthy, filthy spammers. I just had to erase the whole thing because that was faster & easier than going in and trying to figure out how to remove all those disgusting posts. (And let's just say that it takes A LOT to disgust MOI - I'm immune to most things...but GEEZ, even I have boundaries!)

Just to reassure you though- that was a different software program and if any spammers happen around here, we should be able to get it deleted quite quickly.  NOW, if there are any demented ones out there among you that want to READ the spam before it is deleted, please send a PM to me so we can try to accomodate your needs. (Of course, then we shall secretly mark you down as a total perv and watch you like a hawk!!)

But at least we aim to please!  Right?

Thanks, Eve, for the encouragement about "If you build it they will come".  I DO believe that - but like I said, I'm just really not wanting those that "come" to be the spammers & perverts.

SO -  all of YOU that are HERE and know that this can be a fabulous source of info, easy to navigate & find old posts,  and also know it'll be a great place to make & stay in touch with new friends -- get out there & ADVERTISE about our new site.  You don't have to do 'overkill' because you certainly don't want to be rude to the site you are on when you are doing the advertising - BUT you can at least say something like:

Hey y'all -come check out this great new site!

http://www.txldabb.org

That's simple....to the point...and not too invasive, right?

Of course, if you want to PM folks on other sites, you could come of with a really good message and then just copy/paste to all your friends individually.

Now, here I am just wanting to introduce our site to more folks and I feel totally devious & sinister & stuff.

So - I know,I know - I just need to relax and go back to Eve's quiet encouragement about "if you build it they will come"....but NO SPAMMERS OR PERVS, ok?  Is that too much to ask?

Hugs to all...except spammers & pervs!

Donna

I said, "If you build it they will come."  (Not cum);)

But I know whatcha mean. I accidentally clicked on a really interesting catchy phrase on one of my webrooms and saw some seriously scarey sex stuff!!  WTF???  My husband screamed at me for being so stupid because we immediately started getting flooded with disgusting (but interesting) sexual material.  (who knew sheep were so sexy?)

Love ya

PS  Where are our people?  We need to campaign, but we're all too tared.  One of my fav quotes is: "I'm so T.A.R.D. I could F.A.R.T.!

Yup, Eve - the Internet can be a very interesting and yet totally bizarre place to play around.

Several years ago I started getting all these horrible emails, and I realized it probably came after I innocently:shock: opened an email that wasn't really clear with regards to its' true purpose.     I only hope that with all of the parental guards I've put on my daughter's computer, that she hasn't seen anything so...so  totally perverted!

I'm using my hubby's computer really quick this morning before he takes it away to work with him.  My computer has gone to like a "rehab"  facility for computers - and I'm told with all of its' problems, I may not see it for a month or more - AND naturally, the computer geeks don't give a rip about all the precious docs / pics  etc. that I have on there.  But good thing I have a Lyme brain kind of memory and can't recall what's on there - otherwise I'd be really upset right now.

I'll hopefully be back this  evening  to extend a more formal WELCOME to the group - when my dh brings his computer back home  - but until then, please accept this quick, non-personal greeting - but heartfelt just the same!

WELCOME to you all!

Best,

Donna
