YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED...
City of Austin Lyme Disease Awareness Month Proclamation
Thursday, May 3, 5:15pm
Austin City Hall
Please RSVP to texaslyme@gmail.com

On Thursday, May 3, Mayor Will Wynn will declare May as Lyme Disease Awareness Month in the City of Austin.  You are cordially invited to attend and stand on the dais with me during the proclamation, after which I will speak briefly about Lyme.  The ceremony is televised on Cable Channel 6, and a few members of the press will be in attendance.

The proclamation ceremony will be held at the Austin City Council Meeting at the City Hall in Council Chambers.  City Hall is located at
301 W. 2nd Street

(For directions, see here: http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/cityhall/map.htm  -- it faces Cesar Chavez, just north of Town Lake.  It is also two blocks from the complex which houses the Texas Medical Board, site of our June 7 rally.)

Other information:
  • Dress is "Austin Casual": slacks and nice top, for instance
  • Please arrive by 5:15pm
  • Parking is available underground free of charge
    • Enter off Lavaca St., which is one way headed north, and follow the signs to visitor parking.
    • There is also street parking (free from 5:30pm) and a street level parking lot which should have spaces available at this hour
  • Take the stairs or elevator to the first level
  • Enter through security
  • Meet by the table in the atrium area
Please RSVP by email to texaslyme@gmail.com   DO NOT RSVP IN THIS THREAD.

It will help to know how many people will be attending, but you may certainly make a last minute decision to come without letting us know.

I hope that you will join me in support of the Lyme community and to show appreciation to the City of Austin for this opportunity to bring attention to Lyme disease in Texas.

Suzanne
