I think it makes perfect sense. Sense the idiots treating people have absolutely NO IDEA how to help them, why don't they at least LOOK at the cause instead of always, always treating the symptoms. Ok, I know there are well meaning organizations all over working hard to find the cause of ALS, but hell, how long does it take. Its only the BRAIN anyway. With the symptoms of Lyme ranging off the chart all over the body, Alzheimer's and all the other auto immune disorders could very well be a pathogen. But hey, if it ain't broke don't fix it (Big Pharm). They are making Billions of dollars from the misery of folks just like you and me. I cannot even begin to add up the money I have spent chasing relief. The fools that continued to tell me I was "just depressed" (duh), the drugs I tried only to find they made me completely crazy. I want to go punch a few MD's in the face.

You go punching anyone in the face, especially a "respectable member of the community" such as an MD - and you might land yourself in jail for an extended period of time. AND I'm pretty sure you're not going to find any Lyme-literate health care practitioners in the slammer!
As for ALS - I don't have any answers, other than I know many have been misdiagnosed with ALS and the ALS treatments made their Lyme worse.
Meanwhile - Lyme that is not treated soon enough AND appropriately, has been shown to potentially "turn into" ALS. I.E. - some patients have Lyme/ALS and have to live with taking IV Rocephin all of their lives, assuming they have a 'rest of their lives' to keep Big Pharma rolling in bucks.
And as far as all of the well-intentioned organizations looking for causes for the litany of diseases that could really be caused by a Lyme or Lyme-like bacteria -- well, just remember they get lots of RESEARCH $$ to keep looking for a cause and a cure.
AND of course, there's no real money for Big Pharma if there's a cure (it's more lucrative to "treat" disease than to "cure" it - just think about it...) Anyway, so I'm not holding my breath that any of these Big Pharma-backed researchers are really going to come up with anything significant with regards to any of these other diseases until they figure out a way to make some substantial bucks with Lyme and other tick-borne illness. But don't get me started...
