Hello all,
I have a question about a book written by Stephen Harrod Buhner, "Natural Healing and Prevention of Lyme Borreliosis.
It has several supplements that are recommended in his "core" group. Is anybody familiar with this author? I was all for the program until finding more than one item he recommended that was with a particular manufacturer, not the same manufacturer, but different supplements...different manufacture. I guess I can see that some companies would have purer products, I just question the author's $$ motive. Some supplements were recommended and manufactures not, just the amount of strength per capsule.
Is anyone familiar with this author?
Thanks,
Vicki

Yes, that's a very popular book. I own it myself. It's pretty informative on "natural antibiotics", etc.
If the product you are referring to is cats claw or samento, then yes, there is
something about it from manufactuer to manufactuer. If you are interested in herbal remedies, I can refer you to an herbalist who works with patients in Del Rio/Cd. Acuna, Mexico, San Angelo, and occasionally Brownsville (I think).
Let me know.

Thank you AM,
I got the book at the library, then bought it, then return it, and now, I wish I had it. I am afraid of anything that seems to promote a specific manufacture, thinking that there is a personal agenda, going on...$$$.

Yea, I'm with you on that, but in this case, I'm pretty sure it's a specific TYPE of CC. With or without a certain substance in it.

Well, I'm with you on that. Now.
Later, after returning the book at the bookstore, I went back to the library and requested the head librarian on what criteria a new book was allowed into the system.
You know, if the local store proprietor dropped off a book that promoted products that they specialized in...just think of the possibilities...
Cynically me,

Hey AM,
I'm feeling a little desperate again. It's in the middle of the night (again), and I've been getting weaker as of late anyway, but tonight, I woke with my lower arms feeling tingly and cold, like they had been higher than my heart, but they hadn't been. I know that when I get this way with my legs, I'm over due with my B-12 shot, so I just gave myself one.
Too, I've been trying to treat heartburn with Prevacid and then, probiotics. I'm much better, but I've lost weight, more muscle, maybe. I can't eat much at a time or it feels like a heart attack.
The real problem is that I am getting too weak. Tonight I woke up feeing panicky, tingly, and very, very weak... hence the B-12 shot. And then, back on-line.
You talked (in the What's your Story) about needing thyroid meds, too, I think (?). Autoimmune thyroid, right?
How do you manage antibiotics, pain meds, probyotics, thyroid meds, nerve/pain meds (I take neurontin), and all the other vitamins that are "required"? If I don't take adderall, too, I can't seem to think, either.
I keep thinking I'm going to do the SUPPORTIVE THERAPY as listed in MANAGING LYME DISEASE, when I feel better and go get all the vitamin's necessary.
