Hi everyone (all three of us!)
Ok, last Thursday (today's Monday) my doctor upped my duragesic patch from a 25mcg to a 75mcg dose. Since Thursday I have: gone out to eat 4 times, planned an evening out with friends (it got rained out), went on an all day excursion to Hobbs to visit the casino with old girlfriends; painted my nails because I WANTED to, not because I was ashamed of my manicure!
Along with all those unheard of activities the pain in my neck has reduced to a minor ache; all the muscle pain is GONE; the chest & heart pain - gone; the rashes - gone; the hot and cold flashes - gone; the unbearable fatigue - gone; the depression - gone; brain fog - much reduced; the horrible anxiety - gone; the insomnia - gone. Excuse me, but how is this even remotely possible?
Now I need to begin the Dr. Shoemaker protocol which promises more misery before exacting a CURE. These patches cost more than $360! That's a car payment! It's invaluable, but still, it's a huge burden on our already stretched finances. Any ideas? Can either of you get Duragesic patches? If so, make sure it's at or over 50mcg and then wait as all the horrors receded into the background. It's amazing and very disturbing as well. I don't want a narcotic drug to give me relief on every level as this has. What can that mean? My neck has been like having at least 3 tooth abcesses for over 8 months. The pain has been just unbearable...its all but GONE.
I am freaked out and delighted on equal levels!!!

Hey Eve,
Man, that sounds too good to be true. What is this patch? Is it a quick fix for the other protocol your talking about?
I just went to the health food store today, for all the things on the MANAGING LYME DISEASE, 15th edition. That hurt the pocket book but what do you do.
Today, my eye doctor told me I have the beginning of degenerating tear ducts. The allergy drops my Internist weren't doing the trick. Anyway, he gave me a topical styroid and Restasis for dry eye. I've got some relief, already, and I can SEE better!
Hey, I've got the discovery health channel programmed for the Mystery Diagnose (I think), the episode with the Deadly Sore Throat. We'll see if that's a lyme story, too.
